EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

Since 1960, the American Public Works Association (APWA) has sponsored National Public Works Week (NPWW). NPWW is a celebration of the tens of thousands of men and women in North America whose work focuses on infrastructure, facilities and services that are of vital importance to sustainable and resilient communities and to the public health, high quality of life and well-being of the people. Across the nation, NPWW pays tribute to our public works professionals, engineers, managers, and employees; and recognizes the substantial contributions they make to protecting our national health, safety, and quality of life. This year NPWW will be celebrated May 21-27, 2023. The week seeks to increase public awareness of the contributions as well as to enlighten the public about the duties, practices, and goals of public works professionals.

Recommendation
Adopt a Resolution proclaiming support of National Public Works Week, May 21-27, 2023.
