EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

Based on recent analyses by staff and the Office of the Port Auditor, staff is recommending an amendment to the current Salary Ordinance and Directory of Classification Specifications to enable personnel changes in the District's Information Technology Department. These analyses identified needed changes in the District's information technology function, and meeting these needs requires that both the District's technology and the organizational structure of the IT Department be modernized.

The amendment will create new classifications, amend existing classifications, and remove obsolete classifications to provide for needed personnel and organizational structure changes to the Information Technology Department. These changes made will be within the personnel funds budgeted in the existing FY2017/2018 budget.
